The war to seize Kiev is only the first step of Putin’s aim to redraw the European landscape and the current world order. Halting his strategy would be essential, but the US, EU and NATO are wavering in search of the effective response. The only hope so far is that Ukraine will become a quagmire for Russia as Afghanistan was for the Soviet Union.
