Make business, not war

The key to understanding Trump’s Middle East vision is through the mercantile prism. America’s bargain of a financial boon in exchange for hard policy concessions could suddenly lift a region that’s been traditionally prone to conflict and instability, also keeping Russia and China out. Even things that seem out of step with Israel, are not to its disadvantage. But what if the president were to discover that his diplomacy is failing against political and religious totalitarianism?
