Macron’s coming to power resulted from over a decade of political stagnation, and his successfull experiment in France has marked the demise of the two traditionally opposed parties. What he now seeks to achieve is to project his model in a European context, if he is to stem the nationalistic tide that risks sweeping up the Continent.
