Polls overshadowed by the pandemic

A super 2021 election cycle takes place around the world under the heavy influence of Covid-19. In Africa the pandemic is placing the integrity of elections at risk. In Latin America, home to 7.8% of the global population and accounting for 28% of deaths, eight countries will hold elections. New governments and legislatures, which at another time might have enjoyed a post-election honeymoon, will find that continuing health and economic crises will leave them little room to maneuver.
