Is it an exaggeration to compare the confrontation of King Charles I with Parliament in 1642 which led to the English Civil War and in 1649 to the beheading of the Sovereign, to the clash that in 2019 is opposing Boris Johnson in the House of Commons on Brexit? Presumably so, Boris Johnson doesn’t risk ending up on the scaffold.
