On March 6, 2019, The Guardian published a study about “the rise and rise of populist rhetoric”. A research based on analysis of public addresses by 140 prime ministers, presidents and chancellors in 40 countries, which suggested that the number of populist leaders has more than doubled since the early 2000s.
