Crisis

Titled “Times of Crisis” one year ago this column analyzed the concept of crisis as an opportunity, starting from Jared Diamond’s “Upheaval: Turning Points for Nations”. It was unavoidable quoting the famous John F. Kennedy’s 1959 speech: “the Chinese use two brush strokes to write the word ‘crisis.’ One brush stroke stands for danger; the other for opportunity” – despite sinologists disavowed the translation.
