Deadly flooding, heat-waves in Northern Europe, and fires in Siberia are the latest examples of extreme weather events. The images have been horrifying. Yet, more are expected according to the analysis of climate scientists who suggest rapid warming in the Arctic is affecting the jet stream, by reducing the temperature difference between northern and southern parts of the Northern Hemisphere.
