The WHO has explicitly stated that animal research is a fundamental step in the search for a COVID-19 vaccine for humans. Animal tests normally constitute a critical step in vaccine and drug development to determine their safety and efficacy. Paradoxically finding the cure which works against animal infections, humans resort to test it first on animals.
